If you only wish to credit a self-bill/pay invoice, then you can do this by manually creating a timesheet. This can be done by raising a new timesheet for a negative amount. However before proceeding, it is advisable to ensure this is acceptable to your client as well as your internal accounts process.
Firstly you will need to create a new timesheet. This can be done via the Create a Candidate Timesheet option or via the Incoming Images area, Add timesheet:
Select the relevant assignment from the list then set the Period Start/End dates to suit the credit you wish to raise and select Create Timesheet
Now amend and set the rate code line to reflect the amount you wish to credit. For the timesheet to be used to credit a self-bill/pay invoice, then the relevant negative amount will need to be entered into the pay field. Also ensure you have the relevant VAT setting and enter any narrative in the invoice note box on the right as this will appear on the credit document.
You may also choose to Invoice without Timesheet Image if you do not require a supporting image.
Click Validate to create and validate the timesheet at which point the timesheet will move into the Create Purchase Invoice area ready to be included on an invoice or credit note:
Once the remittance advice has been created, the credit note for the self-bill/pay invoice will move to the Undelivered Purchase Invoice section, ready to be sent.
This negative timesheet can be incorporated as part of an invoice if required (so a self-bill/pay invoice will be raised with this transaction shown as a deduction) or can be raised separately, as in the case of this example:
