HMRC Intermediary reporting

  1. Timesheetz Knowledge Base
  2. Reports
  3. HMRC section 16

We have recently updated the ETZ system to include new fields in regards to the HMRC Section 16 Report (Intermediary Reporting) We have documented all of the changes made to the system below. If you have any queries after reviewing this information, please do not hesitate to contact our Support team.

Candidate Entry Screen Updates

There is now a Gender field on the Candidate Entry screen. The default setting is currently set to Unknown and needs to be changed per candidate. Any previous data representing candidate gender in Custom Text 10 has already been moved to the new Gender field, so no action is required.

Supplier Entry Screen Updates

On the Supplier Entry screen, we have added a new field to signify when a Supplier is HMRC Exempt. If this 'HMRC Exempt?' box is ticked, then the Supplier will be excluded from the HMRC report.

We have also added a new field called 'Worker Engagement Type' Here, you will find a dropdown menu where you can select the necessary engagement type. We have already transferred any work engagement data previously stored in Custom Text 8, so there is no need to move these details.

HMRC Intermediaries Report

The HMRC Intermediaries Report is located in the Reports section under Payment Reports. Click the “Report” button on the right to access the generation screen.

This will allow you to select the period required and collate all available information. The report will be created as an Excel spreadsheet to enable you to check and amend if necessary. Once you are happy you must save it as a CSV file, which will enable you to upload it into the HMRC Website.

Any payments in a non GBP currency will be converted into GBP using the specified HMRC exchange rates and not the ETZ exchange rates.

The column 'End date of engagement' will only contain a date if the assignment end date is within the reporting period.

*Please Note* Once you have saved the file in CSV form please be aware that if you reopen the file in Excel the information may be altered.
