If you are experiencing issues when downloading/opening the HMRC Report for any given period, there are some steps you can follow to fix the problem. Any issues with the report are in relation to data errors within the Candidate Entry. These errors are caused by the Date of Birth field for a candidate containing characters such as 'nd' or 'th' after the number. An example of this would be if a candidate's Date of Birth is entered as 22nd January 1980 or the 12th June 1980. This would need to be corrected to display 22 January 1980 and 12 June 1980 respectively (without the 'nd' and 'th' after the number.
Identifying the incorrect data.
- To identify the candidate's with this issue, go to the Candidate Entry and do an excel export of the candidates. You can do this by clicking the green 'Excel Document' button.
- Run a filter on the date of birth column (column K). Search for any dates containing 'nd' or 'th' and filter to show only those. You should then have a list of candidates who's date of birth needs fixing.
- Search for these candidates in the Candidate Entry one at a time, and update the date of birth manually by clicking the yellow pencil. Make sure to remove any instance of 'nd' or 'th' in the date of birth field.
- Once this is done, re-run the report and it the issue should be fixed.
